This booklet arises from the EU project Manage Care. It is  useful as it  enables patients with diabetes to answer questions about their role and tasks.  It explains the concept of empowerment, the basic issues that a patient should pay attention to and how to work with health care professionals, family, friends, community and patient associations, in order to improve  their overall care
