Evaluation of nursing education in relation to the health care of the elderly

The ageing of the population is a challenge for the education of health professionals, among them nurses. Education programmes should be updated following evaluation in order to prepare future nurses to be able to respond to the care of older people. There are appropriate methods-questionnaires that could help educators to decide if students have acquired the necessary knowledge, have adopted positive attitudes for the care of older people and are ready to provide their services. This article presents the instruments that provide valid and reliable information for the evaluation of gerontology education.
